Experience
I have tutored at agencies such as Sylvan Learning Center and University Instructors. For the last 10+ years, I have managed and maintained a part-time private tutoring business. I have extensive training and experience in tutoring and teaching. As a teacher, I spent a year in the NC Public School System as a Special Education Teacher. I worked with 7th grade students in reading, social studies, and science and helped them to achieve the goals outlined (academic or otherwise) in their Individual Education Plans (IEPs). I have experience working with the following student populations: ADD, ADHD, Autism, BED, Dysgraphia, Dyslexia, and LD. I tend to mostly work with middle school and high school students but have also worked with a variety of other groups including elementary students and college students including adult learners.

Hobbies
I enjoy working with students one-on-one or in small groups and strive to help them succeed through their own hard work. So often, students are overwhelmed in school and do not get the additional help they might need. It's my job to give you/your child what you/he or she needs to become successful. On a personal level, I'm a small-town girl living near the big city. My partner, Dave, and I have spent the last 13 wonderful years together. We enjoy vacationing at the beach and traveling for events such as concerts or professional sports.
